Why Chocolates Make Such a Good Gift

BY digitalnut
FLŪR JOURNAL

I think chocolates make a very good gift for a very simple reason: almost everybody loves a piece of chocolate.

But I think there is something else about chocolate that makes it special. It gives people a reason to sit together and share.

I remember when I was growing up, whenever somebody would come back from abroad, they would bring chocolates. My brother, sisters and I would all sit together and eat them. And somehow, we would even fight over one particular piece of chocolate — despite the fact that there were probably fifty others sitting in front of us.

It was never really about that one piece.

It became a little ritual. Something fun and playful that we did together.

I think that is especially true during festivities. When you visit somebody, you want to take something with you. You want to give something that feels celebratory, but also something that people can open, enjoy and share.

And chocolate does that beautifully.

So what makes a Flùr chocolate different?

For me, it comes down to the amount of thought behind it.

When I make a box of chocolates, I don’t just think about what is inside it. I think about how I want the person receiving it to feel.

I want every box to make you feel special.

That thought goes into everything — the flavours I choose, the way the chocolates look, the packaging, the experience of opening the box, and even the feeling you are left with afterwards.

I want you to open a box of Flùr and think, okay, this was made for me.

And I think there is something equally important about the person giving the gift.

I want them to feel, maine badhiya cheez di hai.

Because a gift is not only about what the receiver gets. It is also about how the person giving it feels when they hand it over.

That is what I aspire to create with Flùr.

Not just a box of chocolates, but a little moment of happiness — something that feels thoughtful, personal and worth sharing.
